Focus: HOPE’s fourth annual “Heroes for HOPE” Awards Program and Dinner, sponsored by Lear Corporation, will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 in the Banquet Hall of the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit.
The event honors national and local leaders who have fought to advance social justice in our community and nation. This year’s honorees are U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Dennis Archer, Jr., and former Detroit Tiger, Willie Horton. JP Morgan Chase will be honored with the corporate leadership award in recognition of its $100 million investment for businesses and organizations in the City of Detroit. Rochelle Riley, award-winning columnist for the Detroit Free Press, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the evening.
This year’s recipients were chosen based on their efforts to find solutions for social injustice and their individual roles as advocates for Detroit residents serviced by Focus: HOPE.
“In their own ways, Dennis Archer, Jr., Sen. Stabenow and Willie Horton have all helped to support our community by supporting the ability of families to make transformative changes in their lives,” said Focus: HOPE CEO, Jason D. Lee. “Whether through education, advocacy, hands-on, ground floor support or very public support, they embody everything that our organization stands for.”
Tickets are $250. Table purchases and sponsor opportunities are also available for discounted rates.
